Victorious News - February

A Friend's Love

Prov. 17:17 - “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”

When Job lost everything in Job 1-2.  His three friends came to commiserate with him. Their intent was to be loving to “mourn with him, and to comfort him” Job 2:11. They wept, they mourned, and they sat in silence with Job for seven days, seemingly loving him as best they could. But then, after a week they couldn’t help themselves. They had to explain to Job that his suffering was his fault, and he was being

punished by God. They had no proof beyond their judgements and opinions.  Their support turned to legalism and discouragement, exactly what Job didn’t need. He was already suffering enough.  If Job’s friends had stuck with their original efforts, things would have been better: consolation, love, shared sorrow.  No words of advice, just acts that demonstrated. “We are here to go through this with you". That’s what friends are for-love in times of adversity.

If you know someone who is suffering, take the love-leap. Sit with them, pray with them, babysit their children. A friend loves at all times.

Mission Minutes

From Asia

Bro. Taylor reports 2025 was a year of salvations, revival, leadership training, feeding children, supporting orphans and strengthening churches.

In Myanmar, over 100 evangelistic outreaches touched more than 1,000 people. Churches are growing and miracles are happening.

In the Philippines, a kid’s crusade brought over 200 youth to hear the Gospel, and more than 100 souls received Christ as Lord.

In Cambodia, over 34 pastors and church leaders gathered for teaching, renewal and encouragement. A powerful move of God and revival is rising in Cambodia and all over Asia where there is a great hunger for the Word of God!

Church Chatter

We had our annual business meeting the beginning of January and Jay Wickard was re-elected to another 3-year term. We congratulate him and thank him for his service over the last 3 years.

Kathy Sweeney was re-elected as Sunday School Superintendent. We thank her for her work and dedication to the church.

We also want to recognize those that had perfect attendance along with those that only missed one Sunday School service last year—Mark, Jay, Vickie, Myrna, Kathy, Ken, Kim, Lisa and Chloe.

We thank God for His faithfulness and presence in each service.
