Gen. 32:29 “And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, wherefore is it that dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.”
Jacob was a scoundrel, family divider, and liar. One night he was ambushed by a Stranger who wrestled with him all night. The Stranger finally touched Jacob’s hip, causing it to come out of joint. The pain must have been incredible, yet Jacob wouldn’t give up. Somehow by then he knew he was wrestling with God. “Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there.” (Genesis 32:29) Jacob’s question implied he knew he had to change and that only the God of heaven could really change him. He wouldn’t let go of God until the change came. God literally wrestled him into submission, faith, and obedience. From that time on Jacob walked with a limp, but he walked by faith.
The Lord is able to subdue the part of us that resists Him. Seek out His Name, don’t let go of Him, and let Him change you and bless you.
God has been blessing in services at the church. People have been standing or kneeling during the altar service as God ministers with His presence, touching and changing lives.
A lady in the church had received a bad health report and tests came back that there was an issue with her liver, and a biopsy was needed. She came for prayer and God sent the healing. When the biopsy was done, they found nothing, what a faithful God we serve. Just as in the Pastor’s message in this newsletter, if we hold on and trust the Lord, He will bring the answer.
We had a wonderful Mother Daughter Banquet. The fellowship and food were enjoyable. Some of the men of the church served and did the clean-up, they did a wonderful job. We want to thank everyone that helped to make it a time of honoring mothers both deceased and alive. We thank God for our Godly mothers.
The parking lot of the church has been repaved and new parking lines. It looks good, the company did a great job. We also installed a new parking lot light that helps with safety as it lights up the parking lot. Along with the parking lot we have begun remodeling the storage shed in the parking lot, installing new lighting, ceiling and shelves to store items used in the church. We want to thank the men that have given of their time to help with the project. God bless you in His service.

FROM TORTOLA - Sis. Veta reports that the Easter celebration at the Sunday School was a great success. There were 2 young ladies that came to help, and they were such a blessing. They not only helped with the school but also at Sis. Veta’s home. There were 2 former students that came to the Easter celebration and surprised Sis. Veta. They spoke to the students, telling them of how the Sunday school influenced their lives and walk with God. What a blessing to see how God works in the lives of people. Sis. Veta is now preparing for VBS.
