2 Cor. 9:6 “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”
The “Vomit Comet” is the affectionate name given by the U.S. astronauts to the airplane that allows them to experience half a minute of weightlessness. The plane climbs to 30,000 feet then dives nearly straight down, momentarily allowing passengers to defy the law of gravity. It’s a lot of trouble, but it’s the only way to break this law. That’s what a law is--a constant, inviolable principle.
There is a similar law in Scripture called the law of sowing and reaping, or the law of the harvest. Paul explained it to the Corinthians after stating it more succinctly to the Galatians: “for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”. Sow sparingly, Paul wrote the Corinthians, and we will reap sparingly. And vice versa with generous sowing.
When we live a generous life-- generous not only with time, talent, and treasure but also with love, forgiveness and friendship. That generosity will be returned to us in a harvest of God’s choosing. The motivation for generosity is God’s limitless grace to us. As He has been generous toward us, let us be generous toward others.
August was a busy but exciting month. It started with the Miller’s in concert, their singing was such a blessing. Our 29th Mission Convention was one of the best we have had. The testimonies of the healings and people accepting Jesus that the Andersons experienced in Indonesia were so uplifting. The ministry of Sis. Veta Greenwood was such a blessing, how the children’s Sunday School has touched many. It was an honor to have Bro. and Sis. Erickson with us and hear of what God is doing in their ministry. We were also blessed with many visiting ministers during the convention.
The Rain Forest that we featured along with the sounds of the forest was a hit. We thank Rev. Ryan Lewis for his contribution to our displays. Thank you to all those that helped with the convention.
