James 1:2-3
2. “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;”
3. “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”
Think of the people in the Bible who faced the death of their dreams. Abraham dreamed of being the father of a great nation, but he was still childless in old age. Joseph dreamed of grandeur in Genesis 37, but he landed in an Egyptian prison. Moses of Egypt dreamed of liberating his people, but he ran after murdering an Egyptian. David dreamed of leading the armies of Israel, but he became prey. Thomas dreamed of proclaiming the Messiah, but his Jesus was crucified. Paul dreamed of going to Spain but was a prisoner of Rome. And yet in each case, the setbacks became steppingstones; for in God’s will there is no failure, and out of His will there is no success. Our dreams sometimes die so they can be reborn in the image of God’s will.
Faith is trusting God’s promises when they are most needed and going forward without a loss of enthusiasm. God provides the opportunity of having big dreams, but we must work according to His timing and will to achieve them. Along the way, if your dream dies, don’t let your spirit falter. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus, count it all joy, and wait for Him to give the victory.
The Sunday morning services during the month of March were awesome. The presence of God weighed heavily upon the congregation, and in one service one came forward for salvation. Many were touched by the mighty moves of God.
We want to thank Rev. Mike Miller and Rev. Clint Taylor for ministering while Pastor Glenn, along with Rev. Mark Sweeney and Rev. Ryan Lewis were traveling in Kenya. God was faithful to us in these services as we heard the Word and as we worshiped him.
Again, on Palm Sunday, at the end of the morning service, as we worshiped the Lord, there was a mighty move of God touching the entire congregation. Thank God we serve a living and loving God.
The trip to Kenya was a busy but fulfilling time. Pastor seminars, outdoor crusades, church services, school visits, Pastor Ordinations, water baptism and a church dedication are some of the activities that took place. We thank God for the people that gave their hearts to God and the many that were healed and delivered of demons. We want to thank all who contributed and prayed and fasted for the team that went. You will have a reward in all that was accomplished.
The work is continuing in the fellowship hall. The stone wall has been cleaned and sealed. Some drywall has been hung, new lighting has been installed and we have started installing the new ceiling tiles. We thank all who have taken of their time to help with this project including those who have prepared food for the working men. We also thank the youth who have helped to carry out used bricks and debris from the basemen and tear down ceiling tiles. As the work continues God is blessing.
The Easter egg Hunt was held in the parking lot of the church. Some of the youth hid the eggs in very innovative places, wheels of cars, on tires, in the exhaust pipes, on the storage shed where some bricks were missing. Amazingly, the children seemed to find them in these places. A good time was had by all. Praying you had a wonderful Easter Season, rejoicing in the risen Savior and the plan of Salvation.
Sis. Haas shares, she receives letters from inmates in various states asking for information on residential programs available to them when they are released from prison. She connects them to Christian programs in their area, and sends free Bible courses and offers them free Christian counseling through The Missing Link. Sis. Barbara says she will write to churches in the area of these prisons and asks if someone would visit the inmate face to face to build a support system.
Bro. Taylor writes they are witnessing God’s mighty hand at work in Myanmar, where one of the most remarkable responses to ministry evangelism is being experienced. The people of Myanmar are yearning for truth and peace that only Christ can provide. Countless hearts have been touched, and many made the life-transforming decision to follow Christ.
Bro. and Sis. Erickson report 23 students of Kaimose Bible College in Kenya have the call of God to bring in the African harvest. The Bible school in Kenya is flourishing. Students and former students are in ministry all across East Africa and the Sudan. God is mightily working through His laborers. Recently 600 young students in 3 elementary schools located around the Bible School have been saved and also hundreds more in a nearby city!
