 Eph. 1:11 “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:”  

When an adult does something surprising or unexpected, he or she may be asked, “Was quitting your job an impulsive act?” And the answer comes back: “No, I did it on purpose”. It was intentional, planned, and thoughtful. But when a child spills his milk, he may defend himself by saying, “I didn’t do it on purpose, Mommy!” It was an accident, something unplanned.  

When the Bible speaks about God’s purposes, it never suggests that anything God does is accidental or arbitrary. Everything God does is intentional, planned, and thoughtful.  Everything God does is on purpose. It is “predestined according to the...counsel of his will.”

When we see the equivalent of spilled milk in life, it is important to view it through the lens of God’s purpose and God’s will.   Trying to understand “why” is not the motivation. Rather, the motivation is developing trust and faith in God.  Look at life through purpose-colored lenses. See everything from God’s   perspective. Trust that He is acting “according to the counsel of His will”.  

God has been most gracious to Victory Tabernacle; through the years we have worked on the church building. Now we are in the midst of updating the storage building in the parking lot. They have started repainting the brick.  We thank Rev. Mark Sweeney for ministering during the month. 

Bright the shining Christmas star,  

Bright the beams it sheds afar.  

Brighter far the Babe that’s born  

Early on this Christmas morn.  

Pure the virgin’s humble heart, 

Pure the care that’s Joseph’s part.  

Purer far the Babe she bore,  

Christ the Lord whom we adore. 

Great the tidings angels bear,  

Great the joy the shepherd’s share.  

Greater far God’s grace came down,  

Born this day in David’s town.  

Sweet the song the angels sang,  

Sweet the echoes as they rang.  

Sweeter far the Child that lay  

Cradled in the manger’s hay.  

Strong the faith the wise men hold,  

Strong the desert wind blows cold.  

Stronger far the King they seek:  

Baby Jesus, mild and meek.  

Rich the gifts the wise men bring  

As they seek the newborn King.  

Richer far the gifts He brings,  

Jesus Christ, the King of kings.  

Christ be with you Christmas night,  

Rich and sweet and pure and bright.  

Christ go with you through the year,  

Keep you strong and hold you near.

**Pray for Israel.  

**Pray for healing for Bob Bollinger.  

**Pray for healing and strength for Kim Hunter.  

**Pray for healing for Carol Rose. 

WHAT WOULD LIFE AND HISTORY BE LIKE HAD JESUS NEVER BEEN BORN?  WHAT PRAYER OR POEM CAN YOU OFFER GOD TO THANK HIM?  

JESUS, THANK YOU FOR MAKING YOURSELF NOTHING SO I COULD BE FORGIVEN.
