Victorious News - September

Be Patient - He's Coming!

Rev 6:10

“And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”

In the beginning stages of the Tribulation, multitudes of martyrs will be slain and arrive in heaven. They will have a question for the Lord. According to Revelation 6:10, they will want to know how long before He returns to judge the world, judge the evildoers, and put things right.  We have the same question now. As we scan the headlines, watch the news, and battle the anxieties of our age, we feel like asking, “How long, Lord, until You return and clean up this mess called planet earth”?

The answer is in verse 11 “And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled”.

As we wait for Christ’s return we should do it with patience. His coming is sure, certain, and closer than ever before-but we don’t know the year, day or hour.  That is why the Bible says, James 5:7 “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord…”

Church Chatter

We thank God for the many miracles that took place in August. God is faithful to His children. In many of the services God’s presence was felt in mighty ways as the congregation praised and worshiped the Lord.

The 30th Mission Convention was a great success. We were blessed by the many missionaries and ministers that were in attendance. We enjoyed Micki Carpenter’s drama presentation of the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus, Bro. and Sis. Erickson (Kenya Missionaries) sang and Bro.  Erickson preached in a service, Rev.  Jamie Fetter (World Missionary) preached in a service, Bro. Samuel from Nepal was able to make one service and give testimony.

Sis. Veta Greenwood (Missionary to Tortola) was the feature speaker. Her message on Friday compared us to a puzzle and how we each are a piece of that puzzle in working for the Lord. She also used pearls to symbolize the process in the growth of a pearl, and the process we go through in the maturing as a    Christian. Also, that pearls were a symbol of 30 years in marriage and that this was Victory Tabernacle’s 30th Mission Convention. We need to be pearls in the Kingdom of God.

In the Sunday night service Sis. Veta used the children in her message, indicating that we as Christians need to be like Bumble Bees and be workers and not just butterflies that flit around and look pretty. The missionaries were such a blessing, and we pray that we as a congregation were a blessing and        encouragement to them.

The Pastor and Shari wish to thank all who helped in the preparation of the Israel display and the food that was served after each service.
