Matt 5:44 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
It starts early. “But mom, he started it!” It comes naturally to us from a young age. We give what we’ve been given. Kindness begets kindness and anger begets anger. We even unconsciously mimic the energy level and body language of those around us in an effort to connect. When we feel threatened, we become defensive and stand alert, like soldiers, ready to defend ourselves or perhaps even execute a surprise attack before our adversary can. Having a perpetually defensive spirit damages the key component of our close relationships: trust. Satan excels at fueling blame and hate. He cheers when we harbor deep resentments that slowly close us off from those around us. While there are harmful and unsafe people, we do not need to become a part of the hate cycle. The antidote to a defensive spirit is compassion, humility, and forgiveness. Jesus reveals in word and action that although it is excruciating and sacrificial to bless and love our enemies. It is the only way to live.
The Sunday morning services during the month of March were awesome. The presence of God weighed heavily upon the congregation, and in one service one came forward for salvation. Many were touched by the mighty moves of God.
We want to thank Rev. Mike Miller and Rev. Clint Taylor for ministering while Pastor Glenn, along with Rev. Mark Sweeney and Rev. Ryan Lewis were traveling in Kenya. God was faithful to us in these services as we heard the Word and as we worshiped him.
Again, on Palm Sunday, at the end of the morning service, as we worshiped the Lord, there was a mighty move of God touching the entire congregation. Thank God we serve a living and loving God.
The trip to Kenya was a busy but fulfilling time. Pastor seminars, outdoor crusades, church services, school visits, Pastor Ordinations, water baptism and a church dedication are some of the activities that took place. We thank God for the people that gave their hearts to God and the many that were healed and delivered of demons. We want to thank all who contributed and prayed and fasted for the team that went. You will have a reward in all that was accomplished.
The work is continuing in the fellowship hall. The stone wall has been cleaned and sealed. Some drywall has been hung, new lighting has been installed and we have started installing the new ceiling tiles. We thank all who have taken of their time to help with this project including those who have prepared food for the working men. We also thank the youth who have helped to carry out used bricks and debris from the basemen and tear down ceiling tiles. As the work continues God is blessing.
The Easter egg Hunt was held in the parking lot of the church. Some of the youth hid the eggs in very innovative places, wheels of cars, on tires, in the exhaust pipes, on the storage shed where some bricks were missing. Amazingly, the children seemed to find them in these places. A good time was had by all. Praying you had a wonderful Easter Season, rejoicing in the risen Savior and the plan of Salvation.
